One of the places that I love to retreat to is the Mendocino Coast. I am fortunate to have family there, so we spend many weekends hanging out in Caspar – a spit of a town half way between Mendocino and Fort Bragg. The north coast always inspires me, and I am starting to do more and more photography up in that area. There are so many talented people that reside there – including Pamela W Allen of Winsome Designs. She is an absolutely phenomenal knitter and pattern designer for hats, scarves, sweaters and basically all things knitted. When I met her and saw her work I immediately established a partnership so that I could photograph my client newborn babies in her incredible hats and blankets.
When I was up in Caspar for the Memorial Day weekend, we set up a small shoot at the barn behind my sister’s house. Now I have been eyeing this barn for several years – just waiting for the moment when I could use it as a backdrop for a session. So Pamela arranged for some kids and babies to come by, and I even managed to get my niece and daughter into a few shots. We had some curious horses wander into the backgrounds of some shots – maybe next time the llamas will meander over. Here are some of my favs from the session…below – and if you are looking for a Commercial photographer in Northern California, or a Mendocino baby and child photographer or you are interested in Mendocino family Portraits, or Mendocino Teen / Senior Portraits - I will be taking clients in the Fort Bragg and Mendocino area starting in June.
